Infrastructure for MATSim-Episim

MATSim-Episim is an agent-based model of epidemic spreading. It takes a synthetic population whose daily movement is simulated with MATSim — derived from mobile phone data — and runs virus transmission along the contacts that this mobility produces: in households, at work, in schools, in shops and on public transport.

Because infection is modelled on the actual contact network rather than on aggregated compartments, the model can be asked what a specific intervention would do: closing schools, mandatory masks on transit, reduced out-of-home activity, a vaccination campaign. It was developed for COVID-19 and is now also applied to influenza.

This domain hosts development infrastructure for that model — build artifacts and simulation results. It is not the project's official home; see Official project below.
